Rev. Karen Hernandez (she/her) is a lifelong United Methodist, originally from Alabama. She attended Davidson College (North Carolina) and Drew Theological School (New Jersey) before feeling a call to the west. Rev. Karen served churches in Idaho from 2008 until 2018 when she became a District Superintendent. After 8 years of superintendency, she counts it a joy to return to pastoral ministry in a local congregation.
Rev. Karen is passionate about worship and social justice. She loves learning, and these days that includes conversational Spanish and embroidery. Baking, hiking, and (unfortunately) overthinking are longtime hobbies.
Rev. Karen and Ed have been married since 2012 and have enjoyed lots of traveling together since then. They are both newcomers to Oregon who are determined to find the best ice cream and the best Mexican food in the area.
