It's an exciting season around the Morningside community! After a lot of reflection, we've decided to remove our pews and install new carpet and move to chairs.

We're excited about the flexibility to connect with community partners during the week! We're curious how our Sunday morning gatherings will evolve as our space shifts.

Plus, our pews are showing definite signs of aging. They've served us well for 60+ years!

We bow with deep gratitude to every single person who invested in this community so we could reach 2025. We lean into the future with faith, curiosity, open hearts, and big love!

Making space for generational flourishing

Everything is scheduled and work begins soon! Now’s the time to buy the chairs!

We’re buying 150 chairs. Half will have arms and half will not. We’ve been trying out different chairs and finally landed on our favorite.

Want to be a part of filling the sanctuary with seats for everyone? Chairs cost $100 each. Buy one - buy five - buy part of one!

Church! A big shout out to our Trustee Team and Church Council Executive Team. They're working hard behind the scenes to facilitate our sanctuary remodeling project.

Here's the big picture timeline:

January: Sanctuary is prepared. We'll pack up what can be done ahead of time.

January 26: Last Sunday in worship with the pews.

January 27-31: The sanctuary is cleared of everything but the pews.

February 2-March 2: We'll gather in Hermann Hall on Sundays at 10:00 am for our weekly worship gathering!

February 3-15: Professionals seal off the sanctuary to safely remove the pews and asbestos.

February 17-28: Professionals install the carpet.

March 3-7: The week we move back into the sanctuary!

March 9: We'll gather for worship in the sanctuary!
